SOME INEXPENSIVE RESOURCES/WAYS FOR HAVING A PROTOTYPE ....WHEN BUDGET CONSTRINTS ARE THERE..? Perhaps, it means - affordable methods, materials, or services to build the first physical or digital version of a product as someone asked here for in this community. Yes, there are many for just a visual display or mere presentation of the idea and there are also many if your idea needs to display some functional activity too in your prototype. Can you imagine the toys...still as well as moving....they were made initially in human history with clay, mud, straws then papers and wood, stones etc...basic raw materials.. On YouTube we may see some amazing functional prototypes/machines made by just card boards. For prototypes which are silent and still, one can use clay, even dry mud/white plaster of paris/powder/cement with water or glue etc. Combination of card boards, bux board and packing materials with glue or stappling pins etc are also used in making first prototypes. Actually we need some such material which can be reshaped and which would behave like some wax to take new forms. A friend uses some rubber and even bath soup to reshape them into his initial prototypes. Raw wood is also used in giving some solid formation to the idea. Acrylic plastic, foam/foamy sheets and pvc sheets are also useable. Beginners normally do not have hands on experience on different materials that's why hesitation sometimes is there in their way but as soon as self confidence increases with practice then it's a very interesting work in itself - giving a new shape to something according to some idea/dream/thought behind with some purpose, adventure and enthusiasm. Here specialists in making prototypes of different levels earn a lot of money and people who know the value of craftsmanship and talent really respect them too for their creative ingenuity in developing prototypes and models. Modern societies sometimes, have weakness that they are usually unaware of simplicity and of raw materials available on this planet, earth 🌏 because they use normally finished goods made by industries. Anyways, It depends on what you want to create and what field generally it belongs to, then you may select what can be a simple and inexpensive way to create initial first model/prototype. You can take the example of pottery, specially, the traditional simple pottery without using modern industrial techniques by using high cost machinery and labour. Main thing is how to save the secrecy of the idea and best place is your own heart and mind...lol... But yes! If someone really is there you can trust then it's another story. I just recall my past memory when I myself made a machine with just using card boards/papers/newspapers sheets with strong glue for making the gears with precision for an innovative way to produce many thousands times mechanical advantage. That prototype worked at least to that level that the cold test was successful and we felt that yes the idea is really workable then we used CNC machines for making various gears of that machine from just wooden sheets for having some more solid and presentable model/prototype of that machine model. Last year, we successfully, made a professional level innovative inexpensive method to bypass the need of printers and heavy cost of printing process for making first lot of artistic, aesthetic brands stickers for newly launched food products and perfumes.. It saves thousands of dollars of initial cost of printing and new entrepreneurs with low capital can take much advantage. we will hopefully, get its industrial design registration for its artistic works included with it's representations/ illustrations. You can see below (after the end of this article) some of the practical examples of the Artistic diy brand stickers made by some special method. Although, these are not finished and final prototypes...lol. Some people don't want to waste money initially for some solid models so they use thin iron rods/even cutting wires of hangers (use for hanging clothes) then they join those wires according to the shape they want. After that they fill that wires model with some paper sheets or news papers or mud or cement or glue etc to cover the empty areas then refine it with some pasting material even sewing that model with delicate fabric or clath. It's very important firstly to satisfy your ownself that yes! the precious idea now has some tangible form. Then there comes it's refinement and presentable form. Then after more attempts there would come a final stage of finished prototype. But for making a prototype for other people/investors, it needs some really good work to make them fall in love with your model and idea behind (you may see the patent models of various inventors of different countries). The more you work and practice tangibly on your idea the more you know and come close to your next level/destiny. With some basic tools of cutting and rubbing one can make a beautiful piece of model of wood at home according to his needs or idea. More can be said but again all depends on what really is needed for a specific idea. More you collect the basics and assembling parts and more you know about works of other people in same field, more magic and wonders would possibly be made by you. There are a lot of educational and amusing material available on YouTube and Google etc on prototyping but each person has its own special needs and ways to make wonders. Sometimes your own old school, colleges and near by workshops can help you in making your prototypes. a friend many years ago made his prototypes by using a near by locality workshop when he convinced the owner to use his tools and his basic machinery. I just remember how an inventor in old times measured the speed of light (186000 miles per seconds around) very nearly/accurately, only with the help of few small mirrors, wooden board, some tiny but powerful motor battery and a tiny beam of light. It really was amazing at that time of 19th century or early even now these days.. Note: for digital and graphics one simply needs pencil, pen and paper to make some raw presentation initially. My own many beautiful works were started just from raw shaped drawings. I also learnt later different softwares for designing. Still I prefer the basic simple MS - word Paint software for initial works but professional, quality sketchings. Beginner can use just a printed graphic sheet paper of one forth doller cost or less to make graphical representation, even you can make your own graph sheet by yourself with the help of a measuring ruler, pen or pencil and a chart paper. No need to be expert in digital computer graphics and 3 d printers expertise...etc., once you have a good starting sketch then you can use some free ai software tool to improve these with more quality. But depends.... Have a nice day! thanks for reading. Note: It is pertinent to mention here that if Budget constraints are not there for someone, then it's better to go for developing a beautiful, solid, high precision, high quality model/prototype (made of with good quality material would be preferable) by using modern techniques and technology such as 3d printing and modeling and CAD designing and filming etc so that to reach and conquer the remaining, next levels and milestones of getting patent registration (although patent Office doesn't require physical prototype along with patent application - a person can also use a provisional patent appliaction method), attracting; investors (getting them to fall in love with your prototype), licensees, interested business persons, promotional sources or to launch it in market by yourself within good time frame..
