Help find lost and stolen pets. Hello eveyone, I joined this app because I was hoping that someone may be able to help me with my project to track lost and stolen pets. A few wonderful people have taken the time to talk with me but so far I haven't made any progress. All I want is to do is find my little girl Stormy who was taken from outside my home on December 9th. I have searched for her every day since with no success, no leads, no clues. I have two ideas which I think would help, neither of which I have the skills to put together myself. I am not looking to make money, only to have a chance to possibly reunite my family and others. My first idea is to try to increase the range of a standard pet microchip scanner. I do not want to reinvent the microchip. Currently pet chip scanners are required to be approximately 8cm from the pet to read the number off the passive chip. From my research I believe that if the scanner was adapted with a bigger antenna and a stronger power source, it should increase the range. The device does not need to be small, just functional. My second idea is an app run by AI that collects photos of lost and found cats from online and app users and uses their noses as a unique identifier to match them up. This would help reunite pets that are not microchipped. If anyone has any ideas on how to make these projects a reality please get in touch.
